Atomic "30-Second" ski reviews: new for 2008

Balanze 11 Puls

SL 12pb
As close to real as it gets. Great slalom-specific ski for citizen, masters, collegiate racers and highly skilled fall line fanatics.

Izor 9.7

Metron M11 b5 c
Updated 11, more powerful. Some skiers will probably miss the old M11; this version is less differentiated from the B5. Most of our high end test crew preferred the "real" Metron B5, although it still weighs a lot! This ski's purpose seems less defined relative to the 5. Certainly worth a test drive for comparison.

Metron M 10

Metron M9 ppm
This ski was a pleasant surprise. While carrying a lower model number than the 11, often a clue to performance, the 9 actually rated higher than the 11. Good for newer skiers developing modern technique; good teaching ski. Versatile both in use and in terms of skill level and technique suitability, this may prove to be a sleeper for Atomic.

Metron M 11

Nomad Blackeye
Great versatility, good for a wide variety of techniques and skill levels. Jack of all-mountain trades. Stable, quick, easy, predictable and an exemplar Atomic's new, more nimble feel (in Nomads, that is).

high noon

Nomad High Noon
May turn out to be the value among the Nomads. Versatile, good at everything, can be skied by strong skiers as well as skiers still developing technical skills. Kind of a B5 light! Good work-a-day 1-ski-quiver. A new, easier feel for an Atomic.

Metron M EX

Sugar Mama
From the "Well, it's about time!" department. We predict this will become Atomic's premier 1-ski-quiver for female all mountain skiers. It is well balanced, does everything (except bumps, which are possible) well. Stable, quick, great edge hold and responds to both aggressive and more relaxed energy input.
